Website Update #1

It’s been a little over a month since Joey and I launched the new Atomik Pop! website, so I thought I’d post a short note to give you some insight into the design of the site and provide an update on the features I’ve added along the way. My primary objective in designing the site was to give our customers a single place to review recent arrivals, learn about our weekly specials, and find associated links (for example, to our Facebook account). In order to meet this objective I divided the site into four main areas: the “slider” that highlights “Top News”; a “Featured News” section that includes recent arrivals, announcements, and promotions; a “Recent Posts” section with recent headlines; and the right sidebar area with links to Facebook, Yelp, and other useful sites. Along the way, I’ve spent more than a few hours tweaking the fonts, colors, and layout to make sure everything is as easy to read and understand as possible.
