French studio Gaumont has optioned USAGI YOJIMBO for new cartoon series. Usagi is a masterless samurai created by the award-winning cartoonist Stan Sakai and currently is published by Dark Horse Comics. Stan Sakai’s unique blend of history, mythology, and adventure make USAGI YOJIMBO an incredible comic for all ages. According to Gaumont’s president of animation, Nicolas Atlan, “Usagi Yojimbo has been much sought after for many years, and we are honored to work with Stan Sakai to translate his multi-generational stories into the first ever TV series.” To celebrate Usagi’s return to TV (he was featured on the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES cartoon many years ago, for a limited time we’re offering all USAGI YOJIMBO graphic novels at 20% off.
