Local Oklahoma Writer Creating “33” Comic Book Mini-Series

Celebrate Independence

Local Oklahoma writer Russell Smalley has created a Kickstarter to publish his first comic book mini-series, “33.” In the first issue, Lilly Walters’ life “has turned into a nightmare as a synchronicity of events occurs with her at the epicenter of it all. The only connection between all the horrendous murders and disappearances in her small college town is the number 33.”

Russell is an Oklahoma native who enjoys putting his imagination to work: “If I’m not writing or reading I’m playing hockey or just being active with my friends and family. I’m a grad student at the University of Central Oklahoma where I’m doing research on MRSA.”

“33” is illustrated by Jessica Lynn, a freelance comic book artist originally from Paterson, NJ. Jessica is no stranger to comics, as she was an artist on a graphic novel called “Fangirl” and recently completed her own art book, “BONES”.
